Deuteronomy 8-11:

What’s in your heart. You know, deep down where no one really sees. It is easy to cover for a while, but when life gets hard and you have been pushed to the max, what is really inside bubbles to the top. Deuteronomy 8:2 “And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.” He humbled them and tested them. Some of us find ourselves in testing times now. It is revealing what we believe instead of what we say. Do we really trust. Do we really believe He can handle our problems? Are we more prone to lean on our own ability, money, control or on His plan even when it leads up some pretty large mountains? For Israel just like for us it is an obedience issue. The only way to pass the tests is to trust God, Walk in the knowledge of His word, and lean on Him praying for guidance and wisdom each step of the way. His ways are higher than ours and He knows the plans He has for us. Our job is to trust and obey.
