Isaiah 1, 2: Is God sickened by your worship? In Isaiah God is sickened by His people’s worship. They were going through the rituals, but their hearts weren’t in it. They were just doing what they needed to do to get by. There was an outer shell of worship but the inside was empty. Here is what God said through Isaiah 1:16“Wash yourselves. Cleanse yourselves.
Remove your evil deeds from My sight.
Stop doing evil.
17″Learn to do what is good.
Seek justice.
Aid the oppressed
Defend the rights of the fatherless.
Plead the widow’s cause.
18 ‘Come, let us discuss this,’ says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they will be as white as snow;
though they are as red as crimson,
they will be like wool.”
It really is about our hearts and our actions. We must understand that a life devoted to the Father begins with the heart that overflows to everything we do. Oh friends, we are all red like crimson in our sin. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. We all need forgiveness. BUT we all can choose daily to walk by the spirit and carry our His plan in our lives. We can care for the hurting, defend those without family, care for those who have lost spouses. As we do these things we please our Father. Yes we need to be in church, yes we need to give regularly, but we need to live daily as a Child of the King! I am thanking God this day for His gift of forgiveness and for choosing me to be about His work. Please join me.
