Heaven at Christmas

Nehemiah 5:1-7:4, Ezekiel 46:1-47:12, Acts 24:1-9, Revelation 17:11-18, Psalm 138: Does the celebration of Christmas ever make you wonder about heaven? My mind gets captured by the thoughts of what has been. It ponders what it must have been like for Mary and Joseph. Yet my mind doesn’t stay there. My mind quickly runs to a second coming. A second time Jesus will descend from Heaven and this time return as Revelation 17:14 “They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

He won’t be a helpless child. He will be what He was even then Lord of Lords and King of Kings. So many were put off by the fact that the baby did not live up to their expectation of a King. This time He will! He will be a victorious warrior but on a political path. He will be over everything from politics to all creation. There will be no doubt who is in control.

So today I come to adore the One born in Bethlehem’s stable. I come to give honor and glory and praise to the One the angels sang gloria too. I come to once again kneel and peer into the face of the One who showed love beyond any human comprehension as He lived a perfect life and gave Himself for our sin. I come to Tell it On The Mountain that the baby born to Mary brought eternal life to me and all who believe. What a precious celebration of Heaven come to earth and one day we will return to Heaven with our Conquerer and King! GLORY!!!! Let’s Celebrate!!!!
