If My People

Genesis 38, 2 Chronicles 7-8, John 10:1-21, 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8, Psalm 27: It is easy to see how God was pleased with Solomon and the people of Israel in 2 Chronicles 7. They had completed the building of the temple. They were feasting in His honor. They were offering up sacrifices by the thousands. Their hearts were red hot for God and their actions showed it. God responded like this.
2 Chronicles 7:12Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice. 13When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
It almost makes you want to shout along with them doesn’t it! But God spoke over me “Page this is how I feel about you when you confess your sin, offer prayers of thanksgiving and bring Me honor. It is not about the animals or the building. It is about the heart that is pleasing and willing to obey.” Wow! I too can have these blessings poured out on me! My Father will hear my prayer as I humble my heart before Him. He will forgive my sin and help me as I turn from my ways to His. He will heal my land. As our nation debates many things that are far from God’s plan I want Him to find me humble, clean, interceding for those who have no voice yet. I want Him to find me standing in the gap for leaders trying to stand up for truth. I want Him to be well pleased with me and I long for Him to heal this country I love. I offer Him my heart. He offers me healing and prayers heard. May He be glorified in us His church today.
