Yielding

Exodus 31-32; Job 22-24; Mark 4:10-25; 1 Corinthians 10:14-22; Psalm 62: Have you ever just wanted to sit down before God and just lay out your life as it is now and present your side of the why’s and how’s? Have you wanted to contend with God over His plan and plead your case? If so you are echoing Job’s heart. He too just did not understand God or what He was doing. He too longed to be able to present his side of the case to God and be able to sit before Him to hear His voice.
I too have felt overwhelmed and even frustrated at times wanting to present my case before the Father, but in the end it really is about having Faith even if we do not see or understand. In a few chapters we will get to where Job does hear from God and God begins to ask Job where he was when God was laying the foundation of the earth or telling the waters how far to come. Job’s response is to put his hand over his mouth. The ultimate shut up! God is sovereign and as our Creator He does what is best for us. Our job is just to trust Him, His heart, His purpose for our life that it is what is best for us. When we question we are expressing unbelief. We would not say it that way. If we are asking God to explain Himself or asking Him the why’s it is questioning His choices or decisions for me. Ouch. I don’t like admitting that. My job is to trust. I don’t have to be thrilled with all that is going on in my life or in the lives of those I love, but I do have to trust that He chooses what is best for me and them. I am learning. I am willing. I am yielding even if it is difficult. I am a work in progress!
